Indoor Antenna

Are you looking for an indoor antenna? Check out some of the basics to look for when selecting an HDTV antenna for your home.

Will an indoor antenna work for you?
Most indoor antennas will work within 25 - 30 miles of a broadcast tower. If you are on the fringe of this range you may need to install an amplifier to help boost the small amount of signal you do receive.

What channels will you receive?
The channels you receive will vary from market to market but typically include broadcast stations such as NBC, ABC, FOX, CBS and PBS as well as local sports, news, weather, international and religious programming.

Where should you mount an indoor antenna?
Where you mount the antenna is highly dependent on which location has the highest signal strength. The new digital signal works similar to what users experience with a cellphone in that you may have 1 bar of signal in one location in the room, walk a few feet away and suddenly have 4 bars. Move your antenna around the room in a similar way to find the best signal.

Should I get a UHF only indoor antenna or a VHF UHF indoor antenna?
In most markets at least one major broadcast network is still located on VHF channels. A VHF UHF indoor antenna is still your best bet for receiving all channels available in your area.
